Dear All, Well back at my desk for the first full day since Independents Day 2010. After a relaxing weekend, I have had plenty of time to reflect on last weeks proceedings. I have to say my overall view is that this years event was the most successful meeting we have run, when considering all the elements that go into making a successful meeting. That we did this with the added complexity of our inaugural Independents Night at the Windmill, makes me very pleased. The success of this year is in no small part down to the effort of you and your teams. Please also share our thank you’s with the hotel reception team (they dealt calmly and efficiently with our room switches), David and Richard on the NMM reception, as well as Miguel who looked after us so well until the end of his shift on Tuesday.  Your invoice has now been paid, as requested, and David and I look forward to working with you again on ID11 on 3/4 July next year. I just wanted to send a few lines to express our appreciation for all the help and advice your staff at the National Motorcycle Museum have given over the past year or so, during the build-up to and planning of our Bookfair on 27th June 2010. The actual event itself went very well and we look forward to a long and happy working relationship with yourselves. I was a delegate at yesterday's GAiN conference.  Just a note to say how impressed I was by the motorcycle museum.  A great venue and a fantastic collection.  Catering too was first class.Found the staff helpful and friendly.  I arrived by bicycle, and despite the absence of somewhere specifically to store cycles, they kindly allowed me to lock it securely within the building. An idea.  In advance of visiting yesterday I looked at a map to figure out how best to get to you, from Solihull, by bicycle.  I discovered that there is a fantastic link to the south via Old Station Road, from Hampton in Arden which brings you in safely away from busy roads.  I think the museum could make more of this in its promotional information.  The 'how to find us' section of your web site does not mention cycle access (or indeed access on foot) - a missed opportunity I think that could draw in some extra visitors and help to promote some 'green' credentials. Yesterday we held a very successful Handover Lunch in the Ballacraine Suite. It had been well planned and organized with help from you and Richard Busz.  But it had that extra ingredient that was the contribution by NMCM staff. When we entered the Reception area we were greeted with a welcoming smile and told that our guests would be directed from downstairs to the Ballacraine Suite.  We were then greeted by the staff laying up tables and subsequently Tom could not have been more helpful form the time we arrived till we left the building.  All the waitresses were chatty and friendly and it created a wonderful atmosphere. I have sent an e mail to Richard Busz expressing our thanks and I would be grateful if you would convey our thanks to all the staff for their help. " Now that the dust has settled and I’ve had a weekend to relax before the next job, I would like to thank yourself and all the team at NMM for the co-operation on the pre event assistance and the all the assistance we were given on the event day. I’m sounding like a ‘nice guy’ here but, believe me, it’s very rarely that I have the pleasure of ticking all the boxes when it comes down to customer service. But from the chaps who put the tables in position to the waiters from the bar staff to the reception staff – everyone had a ‘can do’ attitude. Wonderful! Big thanks to Steve (the Tec guy...(wish I could afford him permanently on our crew)and Augusto – who is a credit to you and a great ambassador for the venue. However, I’m sure it was made easier for him to do his job as the food was excellent and piping hot! Please pass on our comments to the management.
