A Castrol Classic Silverstone Dream British GP DVD
Certain Grand Prix have entered road racing folklore. One such contest was the 1979 Silverstone British GP.
New sensation Kenny Roberts (Yamaha) and race veteran Barry Sheene (Suzuki) fought to achieve their Silverstone Dream in front of record crowd. Will Hartog, also from Suzuki, added to the pressure but Roberts took the world championship title by half a wheel length in an amazing finish.
Honda had unveiled their revolutionary NR500 oval-pistoned four stroke machine, believing it would prove a winner. The plan backfired spectacularly as Mick Grant crashed on the first corner and rider Takazumi Katayana abandoned the race in despair at his slow moving machine.
Produced from Castrol film archives, Silverstone Dream has behind-the-scenes footage, rider interviews and highlights of the classic GP. Join these top terms on race-day and find out what it takes to win the coveted trophy.
