Product Description

Ian Mutch was born in London in 1952, and bought his first motorcycle (a 500cc BSA sidecar outfit) in 1969. After leaving school in 1970 he took a number of jobs before joining the merchant navy in 1971 in the employ of the British India Steam Navigation Company as a navigation officer cadet, graduating eventually to Second Officer.

Leaving the sea in 1983 he pursued a career in journalism which alternated with work as a motorcycle courier working in London. In 1991 following a second motorcycle trip to Israel he gained full time employment working on the motorcycle lifestyle titles Heavy Duty and Back Street Heros. His tenure as a director of Heavy Duty mirrored the experience of his predecessors by ending in financial failure.

Mutch now published the ROAD magazine on behalf of the Motorcycle Action Group of which he is a founder member. He lives in East London.

Pet hates include, the desolate and corrosive misery of atheism, helmet laws and litter bugs.

Mutch is especially disturbed by people who eat fried eggs without toast.
