NMM “Live” Open Day – Sat 30th & Sun 31st October 2021

Following huge demand, National Motorcycle Museum LIVE returns in October 2021 as a two day event! As always, this is the time when everyone can visit us free* of charge and enjoy a host of exciting free attractions including ‘HENRY COLE AND FRIENDS’ live on stage.

2021  Highlights

Free Museum Entry: Everyone is invited to visit the museum collection free-of-charge!

Indoor Trade Area:

The event will feature a large indoor trade area held within the warm & dry surroundings of both the National Motorcycle Museum and our conference facilities.

The event will also feature trade stands & displays from many well-known names including Central Wheel Components Ltd, Triumph Motorcycles, Sealey Tools and Norton Motorcycles.

The museum shop will be open throughout the event, selling a huge range of classic motorcycling books, clothing & memorabilia.

‘Meet The Experts’ Presented In Association With Central Wheel Components Ltd:

In attendance will be some of the museum’s specialist suppliers & craftsmen (including our own restoration team) as well as other classic motorcycling personalities who will be available to chat and answer questions. Museum LIVE Race Machine “Start Up” feature in conjunction with the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling.

Another great attraction at our Museum LIVE open weekend on is our LIVE “Start Up” feature.

On both days of the event, Barry Nutley will host the starting of over a dozen famous race/special machines with their owners/creators giving an in depth commentary on each individual bike.

Taking place indoors on the LIVE Britannia Suite stage, this aural treat will also feature genius special builder ALLEN MILLYARD who will be firing up three of his stunning motorcycle creations, including his Honda “6”.

New Rotary Track Bike Reveal @ Museum LIVE!

We are very proud to announce that a brand new rotary engine powered track motorcycle will get its world premiere at National Motorcycle Museum LIVE on Sat 30th and Sunday 31st October.  Built for the track by rotary race bike legend Brian Crighton, the new Crighton CR700 track bike will be fired up on stage during both Saturday and Sunday of the event! Brian Crighton will also be interviewed about his plans for this incredible new rotary as part of the live start up feature.

Brian is shown here at the Classic TT back in 2015 when the museum ran many of our original rotary race machines in the feature parade that year.

Royal Enfield Motorcycle Test Rides:

Royal Enfield Motorcycles will be in attendance offering the chance to test ride their latest machines over the course of the weekend. Don’t forget your licence!

Food Court & Bar:

Fantastic catering provided by the museum’s chefs will be available in our Premier Suite food court & bar area.

Our famous breakfast BBQ will also be available from 8.30am onwards.

Parking:

Car parking for the event is just £10.00 per car with motorcycle parking absolutely free. Given the events huge popularity, the museum encourages car sharing which makes this nominal parking charge even better value!

‘HENRY COLE AND FRIENDS’ Live Stage Shows:

We are very excited to welcome back TV star HENRY COLE to our LIVE stage. Held in the museum’s magnificent Britannia suite, TT legend & TV presenter rider Steve Plater will host these brilliant FREE TO ENTER stage shows which will be taking place on both Saturday AND Sunday of the event.

OGRI Originals Exhibition:

We are delighted to welcome back the work of famous “OGRI” cartoonist Paul Sample with an exhibition of his original full page cartoon strips which will form a special display at this year’s event.

These are the final batch of pen and ink originals which were rediscovered in 2017. All the original drawings on display can be purchased at the event in a never to be repeated opportunity to own a piece of iconic biking history.
