Product Description

DVD John McGuinness Breaking the barrier
John McGuinness is no fan of the label TT legend, but it is an accolade he has truly earned during a spectacular career on the Isle of Mans iconic Mountain circuit. On June 8, 2007, McGuinness cemented his place in his place in TT history when he became the first person ever to lap the demanding 37.73-mile course at an average speed of more than 130mph.

Here, for the first time, is the complete story of the journey towards Breaking the Barrier. In an extensive, specially-filmed interview, McGuinness revels the secret behind his success, and we enjoy action-packed footage of his first 13 TT wins – including the epic, history-making Senior at the Centenary TT when he smashed the 130 barrier.

From his first victory in the Lightweight TT of 1999 through triumphs on singles, 400s, 600s and Superbikes, and on to the day he took his place in TT folklore. All the great battles, supreme performances and era-defining races are here to enjoy in all their dramatic glory.

Throughout the DVD McGuinness reflects on each race, revealing the importance of his devastating first lap speed, the pivotal role played by Jim Moodie, how he has coped with the loss of close friends and what he really feels about that now legendary 130.354mph lap.
