Product Description
Back in the early nineties Roy read in the motoring press of a guy’s intention to hold a reunion on the site of the famous London Bikers café ‘The ACE’, reading it’s history he thought what a great subject for a painting The Ace as it was in it’s heyday. Not having at that time ever attempted a bike painting of a particular place, or indeed one with more than one machine, this seemed a great opportunity to create something unique. Centre place went to the guy on his Royal Enfield Constellation, one of the first superbikes, in fact in the centre of the car-park he is probably the ‘Ace’ On completing the painting they travelled up to the Ace Café site for the reunion where Mark Wilsmore had arranged a suitable display area for their easel. The event was attended by thousands of enthusiasts, many of whom asked about obtaining a copy of the painting, a limited edition run of prints were ordered, and ‘art of motoring’ was born.
