Product Description

The Gilera – MV Agusta Rivalry 1950 – 1966
This book does not cover the technical details or development of the marvellous race bikes which are illustrated within its pages. Such details can readily be found within a number of previously published books, in both the English and Italian language. Nor does it attempt to recount a race-by-race narrative; it is assumed that the reader will already be familiar with the race and world title results achieved by the Gilera and MV Augusta squads.

Front Cover: Umberto Masetti (MV)leads Pierre Monneret (Gilera), riding to second and third places respectively in the 500cc West German GP, Solitude, 1956.
Back Cover: During the 1987 TT series, Derek Minter and Alfredo Milani prepare to set off on their parade lap of the Mountain to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Bob McIntyres 100 mph lap. (Mike Kelly – Mannin Collections Ltd).
