997cc
This machine represents the Square Four at the peak of its development, in 'four-pipe' Mk II form. In common with other 1959 four stroke Ariels, it featured the rather attractive headlamp cowl, deep claret paintwork, and light tan dual seat; unlike the singles and twins, however, the Square Four never did change from plunger springing to pivoted fork, although two prototype pivoted-fork models were constructed but not put into production. Sadly this was the final year, not only for the Square Four, but for the Red Hunter, Fieldmaster, and Huntmaster, too.
