A WONDERFUL SURPRISE…

The Museum was delighted to help our friend, David Reade surprise his father Roger last week by recreating a photo of his dad from the 1960’s which was taken in Margate on his honeymoon.

Whilst on honeymoon, avid bike enthusiast Roger approached a police motorcyclist and asked if he could have a photo of himself sat on his bike, a Norton Atlas (see Roger pictured).

The closest bike that the NMM have in their collection is mid-1970s Norton Commando Interpol (Police model) and therefore we helped David, along with his son Tom, hatch this lovely surprise for his dad.

Dave kindly e-mailed afterwards us to say:

“I just wanted to say and massive thank you to you all at the Museum who helped make this happen today.

We also got the added bonus of the modern police bikes on the car park and had such a fantastic afternoon.

Please see the photos (below of Roger & Dave) we’ve decided on having framed when they’re printed off, I’m really pleased with them.

Thanks again. Dave, Roger and Tom”
