Ted Mellors was one of the greatest racing motorcyclists of his era having started his racing career in his first big race the 1927 Amateur TT.

He wrote Continental Circus during the early days of the war but he tragically dies in 1946 with carbon monoxide poisoning working in an unfamiliar unventilated garage.
