THIRD ANNUAL NATIONAL MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM LIVE OPEN DAY- HUGE CROWDS PACK THE VENUE.
The National Motorcycle Museum saw huge crowds pack the venue at our third “Museum Live” open day on Saturday 05/11/16.
Attendees were treated to a range of free attractions and family-friendly activities including free museum entry, indoor trade display’s, a large autojumble and a brand new “Live Fire Up” feature.
Highlights of the day included four times World Superbike champion and television personality Carl Fogarty MBE join Jamie Whitham on stage to conduct chat show-style interviews in two special “stars on stage” features. Held in the museums Britannia Suite, the two shows saw TT & BSB stars James Ellison, Maria Costello MBE, John McGuinness & Ian Hutchinson join “Foggy” & Whitham for two entertaining hours of banter. The day culminated with Foggy, McGuinness and Hutchinson drawing the winning tickets in the museums summer 2016 raffle whose first prize was a Norton F1 500cc rotary motorcycle worth over £22,000.
James Hewing, Museum director of the National Motorcycle Museum stated: “building on the previous year we were amazed by the size of the crowd attending this year’s event. The new ‘Live Fire Up’ feature where we started up everything from Hislop’s ‘White Charger’ to various Moto GP bikes proved extremely popular. The event is fantastic way for us to say thank you to the public for their support over the years and our open day is now a permanent feature in the calendar every October”.
